Since the last two months that I have started to write and publish blogs, I have been actively engaging in conversations with family members, close friends, mentors and people whom I trust, will share their honest opinion with me. I would generally ask which blogs they liked reading the most, the ones they could relate to and the ones they felt could have been better.
This journey so far, has been most gratifying. To get such words of encouragement and insightful inputs from everyone on how I can further enhance my craft has raised my spirits.
My husband, my biggest honest critic enjoyed reading blogs, which had a lighter theme and a good doze of humor; he wants me to further divulge in this genre. Whereas, my parents, especially my father, wants me to write more articles exploring spiritual aspects, revealing the true essence on leading a meaningful life. Some of my friends, enjoyed the honesty and could relate most to my blogs where I expressed my vulnerabilities; they would like me to write more such articles.
I would like to share two most distinct conversations that I had in my endeavor to get feedback;
- One was with my college friend, on whom I wrote an article. After publishing it, I connected with her to get her inputs, she told me that she had tears while reading it. For the next couple of days, she beamed with joy and her husband engaged in casual banter teasing to know if she would react the same way if he wrote something for her. https://livikashyap.blog/2023/08/09/envy-away/
- The second article and by far the most challenging was when I returned home after visiting a dear friend at the hospital, seeing him battling for his life, I was just too emotional. I published the article and was nervous as I did not seek his wife’s permission before publishing it, but when I saw a message from her the next day, expressing her feelings after reading the article, it was surreal. https://livikashyap.blog/2023/08/24/love-will-keep-us-alive/
Thanks to writing, I have been able to connect with so many people at different levels, gotten to know them and myself better, which is already a big achievement for me.
