In India, cricket is not a sport but a religion and this player is idolized and worshiped as a semi God. Picture this a packed stadium, with over fifty thousand fans, each of them go frenzy when this cricketer walks onto the pitch and in unison scream: Sachin, Sachin, with rhythmic claps Sachin, Sachin. Thus is the greatness and prowess of this player.

Ever since, I got familiar to this sport, I watched him play, saw him break all possible records and surpass all international legends. I have grown up loving this sport only because of him, admiring the timings of his shots, oh those beautiful master strokes, I miss them dearly! He possessed the power and magic to bring a smile on all faces, making people forget about all their adversities momentarily and jump in joy each time he hit a ball for a six. When I see Sachin, I see a sportsman, who reached the greatest of heights through his sheer will power and grit. The day Sachin retired from international cricket; during his speech, everyone in the stadium and fans across the globe got emotional and shed a tear or two.

Watching my idol in person was a dream and it did come true, but not that easily, I had to participate and run a marathon just to catch a glimpse of the little master. My friends and family thought I was crazy, and the next day, my legs were sore too, but I did not complaint, it was a small sacrifice to watch him close and in person and scream Sachin, Sachin!
