All my life, I have lived by this famous quote, ‘the harder you work, the luckier you get’. But with an underlined intention, of expecting a favorable result to come out of it. And it did always work, academically, professionally and personally too.

But lately, my introspective self has taken a liking towards, this quote from The Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna’s teachings : ‘कर्म करो और फल की चिंता मत करो, फल की इच्छा रखते हुए भी कोई काम मत करो।।’, which means, ‘do your work and don’t worry about the results. don’t do something with an expectation of the result.’
It’s easier said than done, it’s human tendency to expect something, it could be as simple as, Oh Livz, dinner tastes delicious, after I worked in the scorching heat perfecting hubby dearest’s favorite dish. Or thank you Maa, after I arranged Puchki’s messy cupboards. I am no different; I too crave for a result, an acknowledgement at the end.
Treading on the path of no expectations and the transition will take a lifetime; but, I’m glad, at least the seed of thought has been sowed in my mind and it will eventually germinate sooner or later.
