Fat to Fab

What was the hardest personal goal you’ve set for yourself?

I feel setting goals professionally and personally give us a sense of direction and is a good tool to build in focus and self-accountability. In the past, I have set many goals, but the one that was the most difficult to achieve was of my post pregnancy weight-loss journey.

My pregnancy was not the easiest ones and to get over the anxiety I binged on some of the most sinful high calorie delicacies that I always craved for. As a result my weight shot up from 56 kilograms to a whooping 85 kilograms. I lost a couple of kilos after delivery, but I still was 25 Kilograms over weight.

At that time I went through a roller-coaster of emotions, whether it was postpartum or the baggage of carrying excess weight, I still don’t know. All I knew was that outfits from my wardrobe no longer fitted me and I could not relate to the person on the other side of the mirror. So, instead of mopping around I decided to take charge and build a pragmatic weight loss program.

There were days, when I wanted to give up, thought I did not have it in me to continue, choose the easier options of weight loss. But through sheer determination, perseverance and hard work, I got back in shape. Now, this is not a one time goal but a life style, working to maintain a fit and healthy body and feel fab when I easily slip into jeans that I wore during my college days.
