In the hustle and bustle of life, I almost missed out on my annual tradition of writing a blog on the auspicious occasion of my most favourite festival – Raksha Bandhan, which celebrates the beautiful bond between sisters and brothers.

Being a true believer in cosmic signs guiding and showing us the way, I found myself writing a piece for one of my clients on Soul Ties and Karmic Connections yesterday morning. This turned out to be an interesting and riveting experience. In turn, it triggered profound emotions that my sister and I feel for our brothers – tied to us by souls.

These bonds are pure, they may defy logic and definitely go beyond blood ties or formalities. My sister and I know deep within our souls, as though it whispers to both of us, that each time we think of our brothers – we know we were destined to meet and be part of each other’s journey of life. And our bonds run deeper than love or trust alone. Our brothers, whom we love to refer to as Veerey, are affectionate, kind, forgiving, righteous and only see the best in their sisters, embrace us and uplift us personally and spiritually. Hard to believe that a human can embody so many qualities – Well, it’s true.

Last year, I was approached by both Marvel and DC. They happened to read my blog and were determined that I help them sketch out their next superhero character – VeerBond : The Protector Of Soul! To be honest, I was tempted, the name has a ring to it, doesn’t it! . But I politely declined. I could not get myself to imagine any character or figure to personify the limitless essence of our soul brothers- what can I say, I got possessive- Our veers, Our superpower, the blissful reason behind our smiles.

In fact, they are so unique and special that they have never once asked for anything; but, have given us unconditional love and support- for which both of us are ever so grateful.

So on this day, I take a pause, and respectfully bow my head in gratitude and offer a prayer to the Almighty for the welfare of our brothers; May they achieve what their heart desires, be safe, healthy and always happy. May they rise like the phoenix and illuminate the world with their light and wisdom.

Veerey, when I close my eyes and think of you, a smile graces my lips, a reflection of the bond, love and devotion I hold for each of you. No matter in what space I am, one thought of you veer ji that crosses my mind, the dark clouds/thoughts seem to drift away and a golden light of hope fills my heart, mind and soul. I thank the Almighty for blessing us with you. Ours is a bond that is difficult to articulate in words, yet the rhythm of the heartbeat can rightfully express our emotions.

We both can unbashedly declare- Our Veerey Strongest!
