“Jhalak Dikhla Jaa”

It seems just like yesterday that you walked into our lives and changed them completely for the better. And today, Pammi Aunty, we are left with wonderful memories that moisten our eyes, fill are hearts with joy and make us bow our heads in absolute gratitude – for we were among the fortunate ones to be blessed with your company.

Aunty ji, what can we say about you? You touched countless lives around the world, yet when you were with us individually, we always felt as if, we were the only ones who mattered to you. You shed tears when you saw us in pain, danced with joy in our happiness, guided us both personally and spiritually. You attended our weddings, and stood by us in our most vulnerable moments and helped each of us become better sons, daughters, brothers, sisters, husbands, wives and parents.

Even today, when we close our eyes, we can feel the radiance of your face, and the sound of your laughter fills our souls. Words cannot do justice to describe you. But, if we had to choose a word – it would be ‘Love’. You were the epitome of love. You loved each one of us unconditionally, and, when you lovingly hugged us, we felt so secure and complete. In your embrace, all the choas around us would magically drift away and we experienced moments of absolute bliss. Oh! We wish, we could experience it again.

I clearly remember a day, when we all were at a pre-wedding program. You were glowing with happiness, looked radiant like the most beautiful flower ever created by God. And as the song ‘Jhalak dikla ja’ played in the background, some of us teasingly started to sing it for you, and with your ever-joyful spirit, you happily participated in our playful banter.

Today, on the day when you left us for your heavenly abode, we go down on our knees and pray with folded hands, Pammi aunty, ek baar phir jhalak dikhla jaaeye.
