It’s a moment so sublime it pierces the heart and touches the soul, when witnessed, makes some of the most articulate of speakers stumble for the right words to express their feelings.
In my life, there have been umpteen occasions, when I’ve experienced such instances. Where words have faltered and tears have given way to express jubilation and gratitude for witness moments of great heroic achievement of not only near and dear ones but people all across the globe, who have overcome near to impossible situations and emerged victorious.
Dance, an art form, is closest to my heart. Each time I witness a performance that is executed with utmost sincerity and straight from the heart, tears flow down freely to express my delight and celebrate that moment.
Also, display of true and pure love, gets me all misty eyed. I would like to narrate one such instance. I was attending a spiritual congregation; at night, after offering our prayers, just before retiring for the night, some ladies sat to sing bhajans (divine songs). Their melodious voices, the rhythmic beats of the dholki and their devotion towards the lord, made the aura divine; some ladies got up and swayed in trance. I froze and could feel warm tears continuously flow down my cheeks. Their love was so pure and urge to meet the lord was so strong, it had some of the strongest of personalities in the room melt and express their feelings through tears.
