Set Yourself Free

Daily writing prompt
Are you holding a grudge? About?

Today on the auspicious occasion of Janmashtami, the beautiful lines from the book, Palace of illusions by Chitra Banerjee Divakaruni, are constantly playing in my mind. I’d like to share it with you, in my own words.

During the exile, when Lord Krishna visited the Pandavs and Draupadi in the forest, he saw that the Pandavs were happy and contented with their new surroundings; however, Draupadi was still consumed by rage; she kept her hair unkempt, as a reminder to the Pandavs to seek revenge and restore her dignity. To this, Lord Krishna, smiled and in his majestic style told her to let go, or the rage will burn her from inside.

Thus is the power of Rage, anger or grudge; it does not effect the person for whom you have it, but kills the persons who carries its burden. Easier said than done, but its best to forgive, forget and set your self free and let the law of karma work its magic.

Thank you for reading and have a blessed day!
