Today’s daily prompt question has left me in a predicament: a part of me wants to be extremely selfish and ask for the fulfillment of the many things on my wish list, while the other urges me to don the selfless hat and request wishes that would benefit everyone. Nevertheless, I’ll try to strike a balance and simplify things for dear Genie, who has already been inundated with wishes from bloggers all over the globe.

Okay dear Genie, here we go:

My first and foremost wish is the well-being of my family. This encompasses good health for my parents and in-laws, academic and sporting success for the kids, and great professional achievements for my husband and all working professionals in the family.

The second wish, may seem silly or baffle you a little Genie, but there is no harm in asking. Well here we go! It is to develop a good sense of humor so that I can amuse myself and the ones around me, help them forget their worries, even if only momentarily.

For my third wish, allow me to don the selfless hat and get a bit serious. I sincerely and earnestly wish for an end to violence in the name of religion. It breaks my heart to read articles on social media sites and in newspapers about the atrocities inflicted upon one another, the display of aggression towards hapless citizens. Please warm their cold hearts with love and kindness for each other and once for all put an end to this hatred.

Well that’s all that I ask for, in case you would like to be more merciful and extend the boon of all my wishes to come true, I am cool with that too.
