What is good about having a pet?

I strongly feel referring to a new addition to the family as a “pet” is derogatory. For me the word “pet” can sometimes imply that the animal-companion is not a full member of the family and is less important than rest of its members. Instead, I suggest using terms like “fur baby,” to emphasize their place in the family.

Very few people are fortunate to experience love in its purest form, devoid of any malice or worldly expectation. We were blessed to have the companionship of three amazing souls, who filled our hearts and house with immense love and happiness.

They were embodiment of giving and expecting nothing in return, while they were with us they took away our worries, illnesses and gave us experiences that words fall short to express. Alonzo our third family member’s time with us was nothing short of a miraculous spiritual ride. Moments of which, I have tried to capture in my blog, “When you say nothing at all.” After she left us, it has been next to impossible for us to think or try to find someone to replace her. We simply continue to live our lives with gratitude that we got to spend some priceless moments with her and have built memories that will last us a lifetime.

Thank you for reading.

Have a blessed day!
