Gearing up for the seasonal change

What part of your routine do you always try to skip if you can?

Ticking off tasks scheduled for the day as completed gives immense satisfaction. This sense of accomplishment pushes me to complete some of the most tedious and unlikable tasks that are part of my routine.

However, given the choice, I would much rather skip the annual routine of getting winter-ready. Removing the winter clothes, quilts, and other items from storage, washing or airing them, and then neatly placing them back in each family member’s cupboards while storing away all the summer clothes is a task I detest the most. I try to procrastinate on this chore until the very last moment.

The transition from one season to another is a daunting task, filled with endless checklists and meticulous arrangements. While I’ve attempted to approach it strategically, the sheer volume of work often leaves me drained and dispirited, dreading the inevitable change.

Amidst the seasonal wardrobe change, there’s always a glimmer of joy – the moment you slip into those beloved seasonal favorites and realize they fit as perfectly as they did the year before. It’s a small victory, a reminder that change, even in the form of storing away your favorite summer dresses or dusting off your cozy winter sweaters, can also bring a sense of comfort and familiarity.

Thank you for reading.

Have a blessed day!

Every cloud has a silver lining! How extraordinary you should write about slipping from one season to another, highlighted by that sensational image at the top of the post. Right now, I am preparing a draft blog post concerning seasonal change at this time of year, which is of a fantasy nature., dealing with a place somewhere between autumn and winter. Very synchronistic! A beautifully written post on your part, thank you!
