Becoming a mother changed my life completely. The entire journey has been filled with numerous highs and lows. In the process of bringing my daughter into the world, I was reborn too.
The absolute joy of holding her for the first time in my arms, whispering words in her tiny ears, watching the entire family rejoicing her arrival and joining the celebrations while dealing with my fluctuating harmones and postpartum symptoms all with a smile. And then the struggle to get back in shape — wow, that was a summit absolutely treacherous to climb. I never knew I was so resilient.
Embarking on this journey of motherhood has transformed me in ways that I could have never imagined. Now I look at each woman with profound sense of repect. Which is beyond the standards of physical beauty. Her size, scars all shout out her journey of strenght and endurance and it resonates with mine.
No fancy university degree or corporate position could have prepared me to navigate the twists and turns of parenthood. Each day I learn to become more patient and joyfully watch her theatrics allowing her to become my whole world. It is not easy. There are surprises I never see coming—there are moments I feel elated and then there are incidents that knock me down so hard that I have no choice but to start over, gathering the broken pieces of my pride.
But I cannot do all this without my husband. We have silently been eachother’s pillar of strenght, helping eachother rediscover ourselves all while watching our munchkin grow infront of our eyes.
This is what human life has as a treasure of happiness.
